Why BombProof

Business Users.
All businesses use Digital Media in the form of contact databases, emails, accounts, orders, contracts etc. Figures from the DTI suggest that 68% of businesses who lose their data through fire, flood, negligence, vandalism, aggrieved staff, hardware failure and theft close and never re-open.

Home Users.
If you own a mobile phone, mp3 player, PDA or digital camera then you have Digital Media which you will probably have copied to your home PC at some stage. It is now a way of life for us to acquire more digital equipment and therefore have more digital media to store. If you have ever been unlucky enough to have had a fire then you will know that after the tragedy has faded and all of the belongings have been replaced it is the photographs and videos (christenings, weddings etc) that can never be replaced. It is inevitable that everyone has some digital media that they absolutely cannot afford to lose.

It won't happen to me.
The ostrich with it's head in the sand formula for keeping this information safe is never going to work. CD's and DVD's are coming to the end of their time and portable hard drives and memory sticks are even more susceptible to damage and theft than your PC. We are not trying to scaremonger but all industry information is leading us to a future whereby we do not store anything of importance at our office or business and instead keep it in a secure location. This can only be an off site location away from the Internet which contains mirrored copies of your files and data.

Quick Facts.
BombProof is cheaper than storing data on tape, CD's or DVD's.
BombProof does not keep your data on the Internet.
A DVD only stores 4.7Gb and to transfer that amount of data to DVD would take approximately 2 hours.
DVD's and CD's CAN and frequently DO rust* or become damaged.
To restore a damaged hard drive costs around £2,000 and you will always lose some data.
A back up can only be considered successful if it has been checked and verified.
*Oxidisation of the disk causes the data to be unreadable
